Art Thera~ Play Studios is created by Diana Ezell as an outlet that is healing and helpful for all ages to combine playing with art. She has a Masters of Science in Human Services, specializing in Mental health counseling, Play Therapy Certificate from Capella University, and a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Ashford University. She enjoys feeding off the techniques of Art Therapy as a form of expressive therapy that uses the creative process of making art to improve a person’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
Thera~ Play is here to encourage creative healing and entertainment. People think of therapy as a cookie cut sit on the couch and talking to a therapist. However, here at Art Thera~Play Studios, we want to get you engaged in your healing process of daily struggles, from mental health illnesses, grief, anxiety, stress, and more.
The creative process involved in expressing one’s self artistically can help people to resolve issues as well as develop and manage their behaviors and feelings, reduce stress, and improve self-esteem and awareness.
Thera~play is not about being a professional artist we don’t need to be talented to receive the benefits, and there are professionals that can work with you to dive into the underlying messages communicated through your art, which will aid in the healing process. Here you get to lead your healing with Theraplay!
Think You Can’t Paint?
Think again! No Experience Necessary! You do not need a background in art to complete our paintings! Our paintings may look difficult, but they were created by our artists especially for novice painters. Our professional artists will guide you step-by-step through your painting, letting you paint at your own pace. You’ll be surprised at what you can create with a little one-on-one instruction!
How Are We Different?
At Art Thera~Play Studios, we believe in Creativity AND Individuality! Unlike the other painting studios, we don’t require that everyone paints the same pre-selected painting. Art Party is different because YOU CAN PAINT ANYTHING YOU WANT! When you paint with us, each person can choose their own selection from our vast collection of paintings. We have hundreds of paintings in different themes and styles that will suit every taste… OR we can even work with you to create your very own custom painting. We are flexible & fun and know that having more choices makes for a better, more creative, and more enjoyable painting experience!
If you have a larger group or require an off-site event, we can come to YOU at no extra charge! Book a party in our studio with at least 8 people, and we will reserve the entire studio for you and your guests!!
Nikki Magel - Art assistant resides in Columbus, Ga. She enjoys art in many forms abstract, body, and digital arts.
Jillian Williams - Artist and Art Host and I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I’m a recent college graduate from Columbus State University with a BA in sociology and a minor in art. Art to me is about more than just beauty, it’s about imagination and freedom. The freedom to allow your imagination to exist in a world where we are all expected to “face reality.” What’s so fun about art is its limitless potential. It can be fun and free or it can be heavy and blunt. We get to choose what we want to create and that’s the beauty in it. I look forward to creating with you all!
