This is how the Moors were so educated. MOOR-occo was the main point of trade and commerce for the tribe which consisted of Arabs who invaded North Africa mixed with the indigenous populations which existed there for thousands of years prior. The same is found in present-day Mauritania (pronounced MOORtania).
You find dark skin people with some Arab features and characteristics.
From 900 AD to the 1300s, this cross-bred tribe was highly educated and especially skilled at naval navigation, astronomy, physics, medicine, and math.
This was centuries after this that these people migrated into Europe, freeing it of the dark ages and the plagues. But it was educational institutions like this that made it possible.
